My kid stuck a SD card into my laptop’s CD drive. It’s all the way in so I can’t grab it out. How do I get it out without causing damage or shoving it in further?

Paperclip! Unravel a paperclip so it is a long wire but leave a slight bend or curve in one end (big enough to hug a SD card). Insert the curved end of the paperclip slowly and carefully into the CD drive — avoid scraping the top and bottom of the drive. Guide the curved end of the clip around the back of the SD card and gently pull it out of the drive opening.
