Downy Unstopables In Wash Fresh Scent Boosters have great scents but wondering if it is ok to mix with other scented products like detergent and fabric softeners? Or is it best to use Downy Unstobables with unscented detergents?
To find out whether you can use Downy Unstopables with other scented products, we asked Proctor & Gamble, the manufacturer of Downy Unstopables. Here’s what P&G said:
“You can use Unstopables with either scented or unscented detergent and fabric softener products. You can base that combination on your personal preference.” — P&G Downy Unstopables Team
But sometimes it just isn’t enough for the editors of Answer-Wiz to accept what our experts tell us. So we tested Downy Unstopables to see how it performs with both scented and unscented products.
First we tested Downy Unstopables in the “Lush” scent with unscented detergent and unscented fabric softener sheets. The cleaned laundry smelled great!
Then we tested the same Downy Unstopables Lush scent with a number of different scented detergents including Tide and All as well as with scented Bounce dryer sheets in “Fresh Linen.” To our testers, there really wasn’t much difference in the resulting cleaned laundry’s scent. The most noticeable scent was that of the Downy Unstopables, and it still smelled great!
So if you want to give Downy Unstopables a try, you don’t have to worry about which scent of laundry detergent or dryer sheets you already have. The scents won’t clash with Unstopables they don’t become overbearing. You don’t need to purchase unscented laundry products to go with Unstopables either.
